Introduction
Edit
In different parts of the world Delphi is pronounced differently. This often results in amusing discussion threads in newsgroups that never end in resolution. One camp will always say that the other is wrong and provide all sorts of "facts" to back this up. The pronunciation argument can be summarized as "Delph-ee vs Delph-eye." For interest's sake I thought I'd compile a list of countries where each pronunciation is predominantly used.
Note: The Greek village of Delphi is pronounced this way (according to Merriam-Webster online): [th]el-'fE
